  Makes 1 serving.  
  • 1 black tea bag  
  • 1 cup hot water, enough to fill a mug
  • Sweetened condensed milk, to taste
 
 
Milk Tea is one of the most popular drinks in Hong Kong! Easy to make and takes very little time. Just a couple of ingredients from AsianWok.com and you're ready to go.
 
 
 

Just as coffee is a big part of many Westerners' lives, so this beverage is for many Hong Kongers.  Hong Kong-style milk tea is normally made of a mix of several kinds of black tea, evaporated milk, and sugar.  However, using condensed milk instead of milk and sugar, gives the tea a richer feel.  Try it hot or with ice, and see which one you prefer. 

 
  Step by Step Preparation  
 
  1. Place tea bag in a mug and pour hot water in until it's almost filled to the top.
  2. Let tea steep for a few minutes, making it fairly strong.  (It should become a dark color, but not black.)  Remove tea bag.
  3. Mix in a teaspoon of condensed milk.  If you prefer your tea sweeter, you can add more.
